Meet Starr Sink

LCMHCA, LCASA

SHE/HER

Virtual Only
ADULTS

Hi! I am Starr, a human-centered mental health counselor that strives to bring joy, acceptance, and safety into every space I am in. I became a therapist in a mid-life career switch that ultimately wasn’t that far of a leap from the person-facing spaces I co-created in former roles.

I am passionate about affirming therapy work, holding and untangling together the heavy things that show up in the room, reminding you that you are not broken, rather a perfectly imperfect human.

Coming in April!

MY SPECIALTIES

Areas of Expertise

I work primarily with adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Many of my clients struggle with executive functioning challenges, burnout, or a persistent sense of restlessness. They want practical tools, deeper self-understanding, and a space where they can finally exhale.

I specialize in substance use counseling, LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy, and neurodivergent care. Whether you are questioning your relationship with alcohol or other behaviors, exploring your gender or identity in an affirming space, or trying to better understand your ADHD or autistic traits, our work will be collaborative, non-shaming, and grounded in curiosity.

I also support adults navigating midlife transitions, grief, anxiety, and identity shifts. Together, we focus on helping you feel more anchored, more clear about your needs, and a little lighter than when you first walked in.

Starr's Story

I spend a few weeks over the summer in the kitchen at a summer camp. I get really excited about it.

Not just the campfires and inside jokes and late-night conversations but the feeling of it. The way a group of people can come together, show up as they are, and slowly begin to feel a little more at home in themselves and with each other.

For me, summer camp has always been about nourishment. And I don’t just mean the kind served on trays in a dining hall ( though I still love feeding a whole room full of people during the summer months as part of my practice). I mean the kind of nourishment that happens when someone feels seen. When there’s laughter echoing across a table. When stories are shared and no one has to shrink.

There’s something sacred about gathering people and tending to them – emotionally and physically. I carry that same energy into the therapy room. Whether I’m holding space for hard conversations, sitting with grief, celebrating growth, or helping someone untangle patterns that no longer serve them, I approach this work with the heart of someone who believes in community, care, and showing up fully.

I am genuinely excited to meet you. And I don’t take it lightly when someone chooses to share their story with me.

It is an honor to be invited into your presence.
